Hello —–
This comment may be in the wrong post, but I didn’t see a Comment Box included in the Live Radiation Monitoring From West Coast webpage. Please, would you forward this message to the person who is in charge of that service? And thank you for so doing.
The situation is that there seems to be a microphone that is unattended, or unknowingly ON in the Live Radiation Monitor Geiger Counter page. Background noise and voices are being continuously recorded, and it’s very loud. The transmission is coming through on the computer speakers and headphones, interfering with videos that are playing and distorting the recordings’ video as well as the audio. Sure would be nice to turn off that li’l ole’ microphone. Please?
Also, thank you Geiger Counter contributor for Live Monitoring From West Coast, and thank you Mountain Republic, for making available such a needed service.
Good energy ———-
Yours sincerely,
D. Ch’an-Moriwaki

Thank you for your input! I’ll gladly try to forward your message, but I may not have any more luck than you did. I have no control over or direct contact with the person/persons responsible for the Live Radiation Monitoring page.

Thank you, MR, for responding, and for trying. Hope your effort works. I just checked again, and it just so happens that today, so far, their service is Off Air at the moment (though it may come back on, later).
I check the monitor daily because we are right here in SF, facing Japan, and very near to Lawrence-Livermore Lab. The microphone had been ON continuously over the last several days, so I’ve had to keep that Radiation Monitor webpage closed.
Appreciating your entire website. Again, many thanks —— Good energy —— ……dcm

You’re welcome, D. Ch’an-Moriwaki! Thank you for your kind words!
It’s appears that the Santa Monica based monitor is now back online…with the background noise still going strong! You might try leaving a comment about the background noise @ Enviroreporter.com. I believe that may be the website for the monitor.
Here’s a couple of other links you can try out. Not sure if these monitors are still online or not. Even though the health risks from Fukushima are still very high, the public seems to have forgotten all about it and our government is completely ignoring the danger as well.

Radiation Monitor in Redlands, CA
You can also try googling the term: “ustream live radiation monitoring” for more options.

Hello again, MR ——-
And again, thank you for all the time in writing that you are giving to this situation.
The links you suggested are familiar ones . . . and in my computer’s Home Page URLs, I keep YOURS up (https://mountainrepublic.net/2011/03/17/live-radiation-monitoring-from-west-coast/), as well as this one which is also excellent:
http://www.radiationnetwork.com/
For fast buzz-by, I like YOURS (with EnviroReporter) and Radiation Network’s because they’re each summarily simple and direct. There’s grasp, at the sweep of one speedy glance.
And from there, in YOURS, I can quickly click onto other matters of note (or which should be, really). Thank you, MR, for being a great provider.
I’ll check out Enviroreporter dotcom’s Contact later, when I get back — and many thanks to you for the tip.

Well being someone who spent 25 years in the medical profession in x ray, it doesn’t take a major study to realize the skin dose is not safe. Also I have notice in the images that at times you can see the bones which means a much higher dose of radiation. Personal monitors such as docemeters which are to be worn according to NRC law, is common sence. People who work with radiation are to be monitored at all times. I questioned what was going on from the beginning because this backscatter technology is kind of a joke. Backscatter radiation always happens when one is exposed to radiation. The whole thing is a violation of law, but not monitoring the TSA agents is another violation of law. Cancer will be an obvious outcome to those exposed repeatedly to this type of scanner. For those who work with it…its even more serious. Thyroid, eyes, genitals, etc are all effected by continued exposure to this type of technology. Then you also have to deal with state laws, which most if all airports are state and not federal land, so there are so many violations here its not even funny. How about first trimester pregnacies?? The list of adverse affects are long and all this is ignoring federal law. This stuff is so insane its beyond imagination. You have uncalibrated equipment ran by unqualified personal doing a job that is totally unconstitutional. Without getting into radiation physics on equipment, this is probable one of the higher doses of radiation one can get, throw in untrained personal on safety or even a basic understanding of how radiation works and you have a machine that emits radiation well outside the machine itself. It would be interesting to monitor how far outside the machine the beam actually goes. They won’t do it, they won’t even issue badges which are mandated by law and the NRC.

About veterans and airport pat-downs..What is wrong with these Vets? Did they not serve this country to protect freedom.
Why would any veteran allow himself to be treated as a terrorist in a country he fought for..If its about convenience then
shame on you. It is time for all veterans to MAN-UP and keep fighting for this country and do not give up any freedom..
If all veterans just said NO to the T.S.A thugs, all of this would stop..But if this country is not worth fighting for then you
just keep giving up your freedoms as the government sees fit . Yes I am a Veteran that refuses to be patted down..
My Van works just fine..

I know that those news items happing around the world, Like in Japan, Liybia, etc.
are important to us all, but how about what is or is not going on in our own country
The United States of America?, Protect OUR Boarders, Protect OUR people, and those of US who need help. especially those making far less per year than the Presidents stated $250,000 per year class? What is he and those we elected to represent US doing about the continuing rise in the price of GAS, which is the life blood for most of the “working class citizens”, just to get to work each day so we can pay those taxes, pay the bills and feed our families?
Open your eyes, Have you seen the latest “reality” show on T.V. called the “SECRET MILLIONAIRE”? Or do those in his stated income bracket of $250,000
+ per year avoid walking in places like “skid road” or where the low to no income people are forced to live?

Recent news info stated that “income” raised 1.2% this year. For who?, as our President last year stated those on Social Security & Disabled Vets were not going to get their normal “cost of living” increase because there was “No C.O.L. for 2010 & 2011.
I don’t know where he is living, but it seems to this citizen that the “Cost of living”
has been “going up” for the low income class of citizens each day. Take just the price of “GAS”, and read this weeks WalStreet paper regarding, FOOD intems “going up”.
I know that he doesen’t pay his “GAS” bill to get to the store to by his food,or to get to work each day, but most working class american citizens especially those making UNDER his stated $250,000 per year income do.
So tell me President Oboma what glass ball are you looking in to come up with this information?

Rickie,
The monitor I had posted at the top of my page is still online & available here: Live Radiation Monitoring
The number of users had dropped to the point where I could no longer justify keeping the monitor at the top of the page.
