A 13-year-old Stanislaus County boy who has been at the center of a flag controversy got a big show of support as a large group of bikers escorted him to school on Monday morning. Once on the school grounds the large group, which was comprised of many veterans, recited The Pledge of Allegiance & sang the Star Spangled Banner.
Cody Alicea had been told earlier by Denair Middle School officials that he could no longer ride onto campus with a United States flag on his bike. Cody is from a military family & flies the flag to show his support. The story gained national, even international attention. From Rush Limbaugh, to soldiers serving in Afghanistan, it’s been all about Cody & his right to fly the American flag.
After intense public pressure, the school district had to change it’s mind and apologized to Cody. He can again proudly display the Stars and Stripes.
Cody Alicea makes me proud to be an American.
